Cajun's Climb 2020 Fundraiser Update

Hi! It is hard to believe that Cajun’s 2nd Angelversary is right around the corner. Concerns surrounding COVID-19 have cancelled our plans to hike as a group on April 4th at Placerita Nature Center. Although we are super sad we won’t get to see everyone we want to make sure we do our part to keep you healthy and safe. The GOOD news is that you can still support us virtually throughout the entire month of April by walking/hiking anywhere (even if its laps around the house lol) just register at www.cajunsaviationdream.org/fundraiser go for your hike and fill out the hike completion form when you are finished.

If hiking is not your thing, you can also support us by purchasing a foundation challenge coin or sticker (see photos below) at https://www.newsairshow.com/products/cajuns-aviati…. This order will close soon so get them while you can!

All of the proceeds for both fundraisers will support the Cajun’s Aviation Dream Scholarship Program as well as the installation of a Redbird Velocity Flight Simulator (equipped with an F-35 and F-16 Thunderbird sim) at the EAA’s Advanced Air Academy Camp that all of their campers will have access to.

Thank you again for all of your love and support.

2019 Air Academy Camp Recap

This summer Papa Joe and I headed to Oshkosh, WI to meet our scholarship recipients, Makaio and Joaquin. Their camp started at the tail end of AirVenture, which is the largest airshow in the US. Their first day kicked off with a talk from an F-18 pilot, who was also a previous Air Academy Camper. The kids were released for the day so they could explore the convention and attend any of the seminars. After lunch they were able to watch the day airshow and also got to experience one of the coolest nighttime airshows we have ever seen! That was just their first full day! The kids went on to learn about welding, maintenance, finance, wood working, etc

Huntington Beach Air Show Shout Out

It is pretty amazing to have friends in HIGH places! While we were in Huntington Beach attending the Great Pacific Air Show we were fortunate enough to see the L-39 Demo by Paul “Sticky” Strickland, a former USAF Thunderbird slot pilot who dedicated a pass to Cajun and graciously shouted out to the masses about Cajun’s Aviation Dream and our mission to carry on his legacy.

Crash site visit

Nothing puts life into perspective quite like visiting the accident site of a loved one. It was a bit surreal, hard at times but oddly peaceful and brought some much needed closure for our family. This is a day that we will cherish forever and are beyond grateful to Cajun's extended Thunderbird and military family for making this possible. He lived life to it's fullest, found his purpose, and chased his dreams all while being a good dude. We love you, miss you and will never forget you, your service or sacrifice! #ourhero #gonebutnotforgotten #pushitup #forever4 #gooddude #neverforgotten
